Comments about Shelter Logic ShelterLogic 20 x 12 All-Purpose Canopy Carport:

We have two canopies from this company; used to park vehicles, including Van; Speed boat/trlr; storage items. We've replaced the canopy onto the frame on the first unit; and second one is about ready. However this is over nearly 8 yrs., and in as much as 125 spiking degree AZ heat. [normally over 120 in July annually]. Also, we have secured the frame in an excellent manner, so that both units hold up under as much as 60 mph winds, gusting more. They have done very well. [...]Had 2-3 folks to install. Went well.

Comments about Shelter Logic ShelterLogic 20 x 12 All-Purpose Canopy Carport:

I'm the maintenance supervisor for a college campus. We use tarp canopies for many outdoor activities. I know about canopies. This one was bought for my own use at home to cover a small RV.The frame has a good, hard painted finish and should be very weather proof over time. The top is lightweight but the tie down ratchets are a top notch idea. The welding is well done. Instructions are OK. Do follow the chart for assembling the top part first.However... It took me much longer to set it up than any canopy I have ever used before. The problem arises from one aspect of it's design. I have some advice on how to deal with this problem. In order to get the whole package into a single rather compact (but heavy) box every rib, leg and structural member was made in several pieces. [...]These pieces do fit together well and the workmanship is good, but each joint can rotate when you are attempting to set the frame up. If you have about four people to hold everything in alignment as you assemble it, good. If not, you will need to drill each joint and bolt it, use drill tip sheet metal screws (which is what I did) or at least tape the joints with a couple layers of duct tape. This will allow you to get all the parts together and set up. The tarp cover combined with the ground anchors (which are essential) will hold all the parts together once it is all set up. [...]the price of the shelter was high for what you get. [...]

I think the product is pretty well made. The instructions could be a little clearer. Some of the peices weren't stamped well making their identification difficult. You definately can't set this product up by yourself.

Comments about Shelter Logic ShelterLogic 20 x 12 All-Purpose Canopy Carport:

Assembly was easy, we did tie top together end to end with tie down straps at the apex, and just above the side connectors to keep sections together. When we tried to raise the final side legs, the whole framework tried to fall over. Ended up securing ends to the house and a car to stabilize it, so it could be completed. Adding bolts at top of side angle #12171, 12173, and 12174, would make the frame less likely to fall down, when putting the frame together.

Comments about Shelter Logic ShelterLogic 20 x 12 All-Purpose Canopy Carport:

Superior product. Had good assist. to install. Added rebar at each pole location, including curved at all four corners - along with addit. rope tie down onto rebar.
Due to severe winds here in desert during north winter winds--(up to 60mph, normal 35-40 mph), chose to add 4 inch strapping from local hardwarde store, and expensive!, up/over at each overhead pole on exterior, then tied off at rebar at ground level. That absolutely has been a life saver as well. This puppy is "tied in" to withstand our test at 60 mph winds. And would do the same when install our next, as it's necessary for our location. But really like the construction of the frame, and the one piece canvas. Awesome !! Another being ordered !
